Our People - Penny Fung

Penny Fung is K2's Principal Consultant.  She is an accomplished and well-rounded professional in security risk management and financial crime risk management with over 40 years of experience in public sector law enforcement as well as private sector corporate governance and management in these areas.

Penny served for 17 years in the Hong Kong Police in criminal investigation, commercial crime investigation and crime prevention and left as a Detective Senior Inspector.  S
he then served for 13 years in two major international banks in Asia, holding regional management positions in security risk management, operations risk management and investigations.  Penny also has over 10 years of experience in risk consulting and training, serving clients in a wide range of business sectors and in particular in fraud risk management, fraud investigations, internal investigations, due diligence investigations, KYC/CDD compliance and investigations of the financial services sector.

Penny is actively involved in developing the Qualifications Framework of the Security Services in Hong Kong.  She was a member of the Security Services Industry Technical Advisory Committee for Qualifications Framework of the Education Bureau and the Convenor of its Specification of Competency Standards (SCS) Drafting Subcommittee between 2013 and 2018.  She had also been a member of the Security Services Training Board (SSTB) of the Vocational Training Council between 1998 and 2006.

Penny is a former Board Director of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners - Hong Kong Chapter, having served as its President in 2009-2011 and Director of Training in 2007-2009.  She is also the former Chairperson of the International Professional Security Association (Hong Kong) in 1993-2003 and 2009-2011 and has been its Training Partner since 2003.

Penny is Fellow Member of IPSA(HK), Certified Fraud Examiner ("CFE") of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Certified Business Continuity Professional ("CBCP") of the Disaster Recovery Institute and Diplomate of the International Institute of Security ("DipIISec").
